TROUBLESHOOTING TIPS

Please note that most of our customers' problems are solved by the following tips

Loose Fitting: only one or two turns on the bolts. No tools are necessary at this point. Only bare fingers or hand will do. This way the structure will remain “loose” enough to allow all holes to align with the corresponding mounting points.

Sequence: There are multiple mounting holes on our products, thus you should try a different sequence of inserting bolts. This surprisingly works most of the time.

Slight Force: Don’t be afraid to apply some slight force to pull on the tubing to line up the mounting holes. Crash bars and mounting points are pretty tough. They’re designed to take impact.

Lining up Mounting Holes: Keep the tab away from coming in contact with the mounting point. Keep as much distance as possible. The bolt will go through but at a slight angle only. Once the bolt’s been pushed through the mounting holes, you can begin to thread on the nut.

Lower crash bars: On the DCT version, the plastic cover must be removed next to the tool box. This plastic cover can be replaced after cutting a chunk out of it or don’t reinstall it at all.

There’s an engine through bolt which can spin when removing the nut or tightening the nut. The solution is to remove the tool box on the opposite (right side), locate the bolt head and counter hold it while tightening the nut on the right side. Please refer to this section of the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fqmlolNiAzE

Upper crash bars: If you detect misalignment meaning one side seems to be sitting closer to the plastic panel as on the other side, please loosen all the bolts and nut, including the cross brace and gradually tighten all the bolts and nuts again while keeping an eye on the alignment. You may not to apply slight force by pushing or pulling on one side upper crash bars while tightening the bolts or nuts.

Air filter removal and valve clearance service is possible with the lower crash bars installed. Upper crash bars must be removed.

DCT transmission oil filter change is possible with the engine guards remaining mounted on the motorcycle.

Pannier Racks: Due to their shape and structure, these pannier racks can appear non-fitting. Fortunately it’s not the case. You can begin the installation by bolting (tacking) the top rear end but fit it very loosely. 1-2 turn on the bolts only! Then attach the front mounting tabs onto the passenger foot peg mounts. Some slight force may be necessary to line up the holes. Don’t be afraid to do so.

The other alternative is the reverse steps of the above procedure. In this case, once the front mounting tabs are securely attached via the supplied bolts and left very loose, you may have to “pop” in the top rear mounting tabs into the holes which have been drilled in the plastic. Once the top rear bracket have been “popped” into their place, you can begin to hand thread the supplied bolts.

Crash bars and skid plate combo must be installed on paddock (swing arm) lift or by another person safely keeping the bike in fully vertical position. Installing the products on the side stand may put pressure on the brackets, which may result in mounting holes not lining up.

Often missed during the installation: the large, U shaped bracket under the radiator must be left loose! It’s explained in the installation video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYt4utdtiLU

Centre stand must be installed on paddock (swing arm) lift or by another person safely keeping the bike in fully vertical position. Installing the products on the side stand may put pressure on the brackets, which may result in mounting holes not lining up.

Lower crash bars: the 12mm diameter bolts we supply are 55mm and 60mm long. The 55mm long one goes on the left side and the 60mm long bolt goes on the right. It’s explained in the video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=warnW0GBcGw
